BNP Pledges Mandatory Sports in National Curriculum if Elected
Aminul Haque, Central Sports Affairs Secretary of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and Convener of the Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP, has announced that if the BNP forms the government through the upcoming February election, sports will be made mandatory in the national curriculum of every school in the country.
He made the statement as the chief guest at a freshers’ reception, merit student felicitation, and cultural program at Mirpur Bangla School and College in Dhaka on Monday afternoon (November 3rd).
Key Commitments
• Mandatory Sports: Aminul Haque stated that sports will be made mandatory starting from the fourth grade.
• Drug-Free Society: “There is no alternative to sports if we want to keep our children drug-free. Through sports, we want to build a healthy and humane society.”
• “Notun Kuri Sports” Program: He announced that a program called ‘Notun Kuri Sports’ will be launched if the BNP takes power. Under this initiative, the government will take full responsibility for the sports training and education of selected talented young athletes.
Aminul Haque concluded by emphasizing the need for unity: “To build society anew, we must forget our differences and work together in unity. Our goal is to build a Bangladesh based on peace, justice, and human values.”
